What about the NACS transition?

By 2025, Ford, GM, Rivian, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Nissan, Volvo, and Polestar had all announced NACS support — most 2025–2026 model-year EVs ship with NACS ports from the factory. That doesn't make J1772 obsolete: every J1772 charger works with a NACS car via a $150 adapter, and every J1772-port EV on the road today keeps using J1772 for its full service life. Whichever plug your wall unit uses, an adapter closes the gap.

Install cost is the same either way

Labor, permit fees, and any panel work don't care which brand you picked.
